Status:
Ongoing. Close for Enrollment
Sponsors:
Serono
Type of Study and Brief Description:
A phase II, multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled safety tolerability and efficacy study of add-on cladribine tablet therapy with interferon therapy in relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis subjects with active disease.
Background:
This is a 2 year research study to evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of low-dose oral Cladribine tablets added onto interferon-beta (Ribif, Avenox, Betaseron) subjects with MS experiencing active disease.
Also, researchers wish to see the evolution in brain lesions activity that can occur in MS patients (as measured by MRI), and their possible relationship to any change in MS-related symptoms, relapses, or any change in level of disability.
