Margaret Burnett
, M.D.

Dr. Burnett is engaged in research on autoimmune diseases and their effects on the nervous system. Her primary focus is on Multiple Sclerosis. She is an investigator in several clinical trials which are looking for new therapies for this disease. She is also involved in research into the epidemiology and etiology of the disease. An area of special interest is the neurodegenerative aspect of MS as it relates to both relapsing remitting and secondary progressive MS.
Dr. Burnett is the director of the LAC-USC Multiple Sclerosis clinic and sees patients at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital and in private practice at the USC Keck School of Medicine as well. Her primary clinical focus is Multiple Sclerosis and autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system (she also sees Headache and General Neurology) She completed her residency at University of Chicago and is board certified in Neurology and Neuropathology. She received fellowship training at University of Chicago in Neuropathology as well as basic research.
She is a member of American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Neuropathology and Multiple Sclerosis section of the American Academy of Neurology and serves on the Clinical Advisory Council for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Southern California Chapter. She has clinical affiliations with USC Care Medical Group, USC University Hospital, USC/Norris Cancer Hospital, LAC-USC Medical Center, and Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Hospital
