Regina Berkovich , M.D., Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology
Principal Investigator, 'ACTH Vs MP' and 'MRD' Trials

Dr. Berkovich joined USC in 2002. Ever since 1995 her research and clinical focus has been in Multiple Sclerosis.

Prior to arrival at USC, Dr. Berkovich was an Assistant Professor at the St. Petersburg Pavlov Medical University, one of the oldest and most respected medical school in Russia. She completed her training there and holds Russian Board of Neurology Certification. She also completed a clinical fellowship, and holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropharmacology. Dr. Berkovich also completed a fellowship in MS and clinical training at USC. Dr. Berkovich is an author of original ideas and Principal Investigator for the 'ACTH vs MP' and 'MRD' Investigator-Initiated Trials. Her research work is partly funded by the National MS Society. She is actively involved in several other clinical MS research projects which are looking for new therapies for this progressive disease. She lectures nationwide and internationally on the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis.

Her areas of special interest include new treatment options for relapsing remitting and progressive MS, Behavioral and Cognitive aspects of MS, and symptomatic treatment of MS. She is a member of American Academy of Neurology, Association of California Neurologists, Association of LA Neurologists, and Russian Society of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Dr. Berkovich sees patients at HCC II (mostly Multiple Sclerosis Clinic) and at the LAC+USC Multiple Sclerosis and General Neurology Clinics.

In her work she actively uses FDA approved and off-label symptomatic treatment options like Botox, Itratecal Baclofen, and Plasmapheresis.
